We have just published the first two Discussion Papers on our website! The first one by Paul Stubbs, senior research fellow at the Institute of Economics, Zagreb, addresses the historical lessons and contemporary relevance of the New International Economic Order (NIEO). The second paper by Ana Elisa Saggioro Garcia, Associate Researcher at the BRICS Policy Center and Professor at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro, offers a critical assessment of the BRICS grouping by examining its trajectory, main actors, and contemporary challenges within the evolving international order.

Based on the first workshop of the Vienna Global Forum that took place in July at the Bruno Kreisky Forum in Vienna, Master student and ÖFSE-intern Anamaria Copilau wrote an article on the lessons from the New International Economic Order (NIEO) for the A&W Blog. The article reflects on the origin and vision of the NIEO and asks how much remains of the project today in the form of BRICS and other alliances. You can read the piece in German here.
